Shawn Jarrett is a dedicated senior associate attorney. Based in our Fort Wayne, Indiana family law office, Shawn can represent clients throughout Allen County, Indiana, and nearby areas.

Shawn attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2008. During law school, she was a member of the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Association, and an associate member of the Mock Trial Board. Before attending law school, Shawn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Corporate Communication from Concordia University in Fort Wayne. During her undergraduate studies, she served as Campaign Chair for Toys for Tots. Shawn is licensed and ready to assist clients in the state of Indiana.

Shawn is also a Lead Counsel Verified attorney in divorce and family law. Since 1997, the Lead Counsel Verified status has been granted to attorneys who possess the appropriate professional experience and an impeccable record.

Shawn brings over 15 years of legal experience to her role at Stange Law Firm. Before joining our Fort Wayne, Indiana team, Shawn recently spent four years working in private practice as a defense attorney. In this role, she primarily handled CHINS defense, criminal defense, and adoptions. She worked diligently to represent clients in court, communicated effectively to help them interpret laws, decisions, and regulations impacting their cases, conferred with judges, developed key legal research skills, and maintained a well-prepared and organized approach to her cases. During this time, Shawn also worked as an independent contract defense attorney for the CHINS division of the Public Defender's Office. Shawn previously spent eight years with the Department of Child Services in Fort Wayne in various roles, including Chief Counsel, Deputy Chief Counsel, and Local Office Attorney. Shawn understands the challenging nature of family law cases and is eager to work hard to help her clients rebuild their lives.

Outside of her legal work, Shawn enjoys giving back whenever she can. She has participated in Mudgirl obstacle races to support breast cancer charities and ran a marathon in Alaska to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
