Anton M. Castro Leandro

Leandro is an Associate in Puyat Jacinto Santos (PJS) Law.

He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 2021. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2023. Leandro also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of the Philippines, where he graduated cum laude in 2017. Prior to joining PJS Law, he worked with Palarca & Baluyut Law Offices, where he was involved in civil, criminal, and election law matters. In 2021, his paper "The Human Exemption Challenge: Securing the Philippine Humanitarian Space in the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020" was published in the 2021 edition of the Asia-Pacific Journal of International Humanitarian Law.

Leandro’s main areas of practice in PJS include Conflict Resolution and Corporate & Commercial Law. He has also assisted in matters involving Intellectual Property, Labor and Employment, and Mergers & Acquisitions.

• Various clients: Part of the team acting as counsel to foreign and local entities with respect to providing general corporate services. Work includes assistance in establishing local subsidiaries, regulatory compliance and disclosure, preparation of documents for filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, contract review, and document drafting.

• Various clients: Advised corporate entities on compliance with Philippine laws and regulations. Work includes review of the compliance of promotion activities with relevant laws and regulations, such as the Consumer Act of the Philippines and the Philippine Competition Act.

• Various clients: Part of the team who acted as legal adviser to domestic and international companies involved in Philippine acquisitions and/or seeking investments in various projects in the Philippines.

• Confidential client: Advised on the regulations of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas relating to foreign exchange transactions.

• Confidential Client: Reviewed trademark registration documents and identified issues relating to the same as part of a due diligence report.

• Wholly-owned subsidiary of a leading Philippine conglomerate: Assisting client in relation to its proposed development of a major land project.

• Various clients: Advised on violations of the Intellectual Property Code and on compliance of franchise agreements with the provisions of the Code on technology transfer arrangements.
