MULLER Steven

Steven Muller is the Vice President of Share Lawyers. His practice is focused on long-term disability litigation. Clients rely on Steven to guide them through the complex world of long-term disability claims. Steven has extensive experience in all aspects of disability claims. He is known among his clients and colleagues as a quick, reliable, tenacious, skilled negotiator and a fearless advocate. Steven is the lawyer other attorneys turn to when they have a question about long-term disability litigation. He has in-depth knowledge of insurance law. He earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor in 1995 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit-Mercy the same year. He obtained a Master of Laws in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution in 2001. Steven was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997, and in 2018, he was called to the British Columbia Bar. Steven is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the British Columbia Trial Lawyers Association. He has published articles in the field of disability insurance litigation and has been invited to speak at organizations such as the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Osgoode Hall Law School, and the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Evaluation. Steven was ranked in the Lexpert Canadian Legal Directory for 2023 and 2024 in the area of long-term disability practice. Steven has testified before the Senate Committee on Social Affairs (SOCI) in the study of the Canadian Disability Benefit. He received the John A. McLeish Award for 2023 for his work in identifying the impact of the Canadian Disability Benefit on long-term disability insurance and for his efforts in creating the LTD section of the OTLA over ten years ago, providing a space for disability litigators of all levels to learn from each other and advance access to justice.

In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, walking his dog, traveling, reading, and spending time with his wife and children.
