Rupert Farr is a commercial litigation solicitor and employment lawyer with over 25 years’ experience.Rupert qualified and spent seven years at Freshfields, where he was a commercial litigation associate, before moving into industry as in-house Counsel in the publishing and financial services sectors. Rupert subsequently worked with large international firms and has been a partner at Blake-Turner LLP since 1999.Rupert has extensive experience in commercial litigation, involving small and large contractual disputes, fraud claims, shareholder and partnership disputes, insolvency and Landlord & Tenant. As well as being an experienced litigator Rupert has undertaken many mediations and other forms of ADR.Rupert ran the successful appeal to the Court of Appeal in the case of Hashtroodi –v- Hancock concerning extensions of time for service of a claim form. He also advised the successful liquidator in the case of Marini Limited –v- Dickenson & Others in a case concerning directors’ liabilities for wrongful trading.Rupert Farr is also an employment lawyer advising both employers and employees on cases involving unfair dismissal, sexual discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, and restrictive covenants including applications for injunctive relief.Rupert is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (“ELA”) and was a member of the ELA working party involved in the consultation process with the Government in relation to the introduction of fees in the Employment Tribunal and the Employment Appeals Tribunal. Rupert also advises employees at all levels on settlement agreements with their employers.Rupert works from the Blake-Turner offices in Fenchurch Street and his particular expertise lies in providing sound commercial advice to clients designed to achieve their goals in the most economical way possible.The firm acts for a wide range of businesses and individuals according to their needs and is always willing to consider acting for clients on a damages based agreement (“DBA”), conditional fee agreements (no win no fee) or hybrid conditional fee agreements where appropriate.Rupert lives in Hertfordshire with his family and is keen follower of all sports especially cricket.
