Presentation

Jonathan Wild is an Advocate and Commissioner for Oaths. Jonathan is the head of litigation at Callin Wild LLC and deals primarily with large or complex litigious matters, often involving both local and international work.

Jonathan has worked on major cross-border insolvencies; including Savings and Investment Bank, B.C.C.I. and the high profile “Navigator Case” (see below) involving the litigation of the Isle of Man companies that were concurrently in “Chapter 11 proceedings” in the USA, together with the formulation of a scheme of arrangement and a much debated decision by the Privy Council.

Jonathan acted in the long running Bitel Litigation (see below) which also involved proceedings before the Privy Council.

Jonathan has also worked on a broad variety of general contentious civil cases including derivative actions, shipping disputes, EU law restrictive practices, professional negligence claims and planning enquiries. He also acts for the Scheme Manager of the Isle of Man's Depositors Compensation Scheme.

Jonathan is currently acting in a number of high profile directors duties cases before both the Isle of Man and English Courts.

Jonathan is the exclusive representative for Fraudnet for the Isle of Man. Fraudnet is a specialist network of leading fraud and financial crime lawyers worldwide and is part of the Commercial Crime Services Division of the International Chamber of Commerce. He is experienced in obtaining interlocutory relief including freezing orders and disclosure orders, both locally and co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional applications.

Jonathan is a former President of the Isle of Man Law Society.

Jonathan has been recommended in the major legal directories for a number of years having been recognised as being ‘exceptional‘ and ‘an excellent lawyer; very intelligent, shrewd and hardworking’. Legal 500 named Jonathan as a ‘Leading Individual‘ in dispute resolution in the Isle of Man and described him as having “un-matched experience and expertise in big ticket, large scale commercial disputes. He leads a skilled team of litigators.” Chambers and Partners also recommended Jonathan and described him as a “very solid, well prepared and diligent” practitioner. Jonathan was also named as a ‘Thought Leader’ in Who’s Who Legal Asset Recovery.
