Amr is a former Vice President, and the Advisor to the CEO, of GAFI. And was the Vice President of the Technical Secretariat of the Supreme Investment Council. He was a Preliminary Committee member who was responsible for drafting the Egyptian Investment Law No. 72/2017 and was also responsible for the National Contact Point for Egypt at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). He was a legal advisor for the International Leasing and Investment Company in Kuwait, specializing in Islamic finance, owns several subsidiaries and investment banks, contributes to many companies in several fields within the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, drafting all the company’s Islamic financing and investment contracts, such as Murabaha, Tawarruq, forming, Istisna’a (Manufacturing) and financing leasing contracts. Has a great experience in structuring granted finances to the clients by finding the best financing method complying with the Islamic Sharia. He also worked as a legal advisor at the Kuwait Real Estate Bank (currently Kuwait International Bank), during the period of the bank’s conversion project from a specialized traditional bank to a comprehensive Islamic bank. He has had a diverse background in numerous areas of direct/ indirect investment and multiple areas including corporate, banking & finance, government projects, M&As as well as investment related to advisory and dispute matters. He practiced law in two jurisdictions Egypt and Kuwait, and served as a board member and representative of the Gulf Investment Company (HALIC) in Turkey.
