Hamdy is a Tax Partner based in our Egypt office. He is a tax expert with a competent work ethic and a sense of ownership, with more than 20 years of experience in the tax and audit fields. He is a skilled tax advisor with broad professional experience, specializing in mergers & acquisitions and international taxation. Hamdy has a proven wealth of knowledge in Egyptian tax laws, regulations, and investment laws. Hamdy advises on strategic planning and deals with cross-border transactions and the implementation of all tax-related initiatives to minimize tax burdens for multinational companies operating in Egypt. He also deals with tax due diligence missions for national and international mergers, acquisitions and other business deals. Hamdy is responsible for managing a team of tax professionals serving major multinational & local clients, offering a wide variety of tax consultancy, compliance, and tax planning opportunities.Prior to joining Andersen in Egypt, Hamdy worked at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) for over 13 years and was later appointed as a member of the Tax Appeal Committee formed within the Ministry of Finance.Hamdy has advised multi-industry clients (including solar and wind renewable energy, trading, banking manufacturing, construction, pharmaceutical, Shipping industries, hospitality and telecommunication) on their statutory obligations, and relevant legislation including currency control. He advises clients on withholding tax planning on cross-border transactions and review of agreements from an international tax exposure perspective.
