Katherine Filewych, B.A., J.D.Immigration LawyerKatherine earned her Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Indigenous and Aboriginal Law from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia.Katherine practices in all areas of immigration law in Canada. Her experience includes, but is not limited to, judicial review at the Federal Court, assisting clients with previously refused visa applications, drafting arguments for complex immigration cases, responding to procedural fairness letters, inadmissibility issues, temporary and permanent residence applications, spousal sponsorship, citizenship, and refugee matters.Before joining Matkowsky Immigration Law, Katherine worked in several non-profit legal organizations where she assisted low-income and marginalized individuals in assessing their options and advocating on a wide variety of complex legal issues.Katherine is passionate about helping clients develop creative and empowering strategies to achieve their immigration goals with respect and dignity.
