Attorney Dave van Moppes holds a Master of Law (KUL, 2005) and an additional Master's in Corporate Law (KUL Brussels, 2006). He also completed a postgraduate degree in Tax Sciences (EHSAL-FHS, 2008).

Dave is a founding partner of the Tuerlinckx Tax Lawyers firm.

He has been a member of the Antwerp Bar since 2006 and specializes in the TAX and CRIMINAL aspects of taxation. Since 2015, Dave has been advising clients preventively (risk assessment - compliance) on tax matters and assisting them during disputes and tax procedures. He defends the interests of individuals, entrepreneurs, and companies in amicable settlement negotiations or during criminal proceedings. Dave has extensive experience in tax regularizations, international data exchanges, and the repatriation of foreign assets.

Thanks to his professional skills and interest in criminal tax law, Dave has developed particular expertise in anti-money laundering legislation. He is a member of the "Association of Anti-Money Laundering Specialists" (ACAMS) and was the first Belgian tax lawyer to obtain the globally recognized "Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist" (CAMS) certification.

Additionally, Dave has specific expertise in crypto-compliance. He is the co-author of the book "Cryptic Cryptocurrencies Taxes". He combines his expertise in anti-money laundering, tax regularization, and taxation to assist clients who generate income and capital gains from cryptocurrency investments and convert them into fiat currency.

In this context, Dave obtained the Certified Cryptoasset AFC Specialist certification (ACAMS) in 2023, equipping him with the expertise to manage financial crime risks in the cryptocurrency sector and comply with relevant regulations.

Dave is also well-versed in Belgian and European privacy legislation and has earned the Data Protection Officer certificate from the Data Protection Institute.

Tuerlinckx Tax Lawyers and Dave offer in-house training sessions and workshops on anti-money laundering aimed at financial institutions, notaries, lawyers, auditors, tax advisors, accountants, wealth management consultants, and others.

He is regularly published and invited as a speaker to discuss anti-money laundering legislation, regularization, foreign capital repatriation, and cryptocurrency.
