Jan has extensive experience advising clients in Europe, Asia, and the United States on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, add-on acquisitions, and divestitures. He also advises on equity investments, corporate restructurings, and general corporate governance matters. Jan provides tailored and commercially pragmatic advice to his clients and is recognized for his strong technical expertise by leading international legal directories.Jan spent five years at Stibbe’s Hong Kong office, where he gained significant international transaction experience. Leveraging his particular knowledge of outbound cross-border transactions from Asia to Europe, he now heads Stibbe’s China desk.Jan is co-chair of the Cross-Border Investment Committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) and a director of the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Tax and Legal Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce.Jan also serves as Stibbe’s International Relations Partner, coordinating the firm’s relationships with other firms worldwide.Jan graduated in law from KU Leuven in 2002. He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate and Securities Law from King’s College London (2003). He joined Stibbe’s Brussels office in 2003.
