Wilko van WeertA member of the Brussels Bar, Wilko primarily focuses on providing strategic advice on European, Belgian, and Dutch competition law, as well as on ensuring compliance with the regulatory and ethical standards that clients are expected to meet today.In addition to defending clients in international cartel investigations, Wilko has significant experience in intellectual property related to the technology and life sciences sectors, particularly in technology transfer, patent pools, standard-setting, and generic entry. In recent years, he has frequently advised on antitrust and merger control aspects of renewable energy and environmental cooperation projects, as well as ESG-related matters, particularly in the electric vehicle/automotive sector.Wilko’s clients span a wide range of industries, including consumer goods, food, high-tech electronics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and automotive. He leads compliance efforts for several companies and associations active in these areas.He has often supported merger and acquisition transactions by obtaining regulatory clearances under EU and Member State merger control regimes and has represented third-party interests in several landmark merger control cases. Wilko has the network, knowledge, and experience to facilitate successful interaction with the relevant authorities.Before joining Liberius, Wilko headed the Brussels office of Norton Rose Fulbright.
