Master Arvid De Smet received multilingual secondary education (NL-FR-ENG-ESP) and international education (United World Colleges). He graduated in law from the University of Ghent in 1996, after which he became a lawyer at the Ghent Bar. He has been a lawyer since 1996 and a mediator since 2000.Master Arvid De Smet has been a mentor to young lawyers since 2005.He obtained the certificate in cassation in criminal law (2015) and was recognized as an associate lawyer (2020).He was previously recognized as a mediator in family law, civil and commercial law, and social law.He has extensive experience as a generalist in nearly all branches of law. He lives and works in the municipality of Assenede, is married, and has two children.He is socially engaged with various professional and socio-cultural associations.He has been a private pilot since 1999 and has also practiced golf since 2014 in his free time.
