Rachel A. HIGHSMITH

Rachel Highsmith is a family law attorney based at JHC's Overland Park office. She advises and defends her clients in cases involving divorce, paternity, child custody, child support, guardianship, and grandparents' rights.Rachel's passion for family law began in high school when she interned at a law firm specializing in family law and witnessed the positive impact an attorney can have on people's lives. This inspired Rachel to pursue a career where she could meaningfully respond to people's needs and provide compassionate services to children and families.With an unwavering desire to help others, Rachel is highly service-oriented. She wants her clients to feel seen, heard, and protected. In every case, she helps her clients identify solid goals and develops a tailored plan to achieve them.Rachel, one of JHC’s most outstanding summer associates, was thrilled to join the team in a part-time role during her final year at the University of Kansas School of Law and later transitioned to a full-time position after graduation. Having spent over a year under the mentorship of experienced family law practitioners at JHC before being admitted to practice, Rachel had a head start over her competitors. And she has soared.
