Steve has successfully defended a vast number of high profile and complex criminal cases including cases of substantial fraud and murder.Recent instructions include acting on behalf of a former Member of Parliament, defending allegations of allegedly fraudulent claims for parliamentary expenses; representing a Company Director of a PLC in a large-scale fraud brought by the Financial Conduct Authority and involving allegations that he misled the market; and acting on behalf of a well-known, award-winning company, in relation to complex environmental issues concerning matters likely to attract significant public interest.Steve’s experience of traditional and complex crime also includes acting on behalf of Ben Field’s co-defendant Martyn Smith who was acquitted of double murder allegations, as featured in the BBC drama ‘The Sixth Commandment’ and more recently assisting the alleged accountant for a London crime family in relation to multimillion pound confiscation proceedings.
