He regularly advises on projects involving new technologies (including Artificial Intelligence) and innovative uses of data.As an intellectual property expert, Bastiaan is well-equipped to handle complex IP issues that may arise in data and technology projects and transactions.BackgroundBastiaan earned his Master of Laws from KU Leuven in 1994 (magna cum laude). He is a member of the Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF) and obtained an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School (1996). He holds additional certifications from Vlerick Business School (negotiation), the London School of Economics (data: law, policy, and regulation), and the University of Oxford (Artificial Intelligence program). He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional – Europe (CIPP/E) through the IAPP.
