Chris studied at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2004. During law school, he received Dean's Honors and served as Student Editor-in-Chief (May 2003-May 2004) and Student Research Editor (August 2002-May 2003) for the ABA Family Law Quarterly. Before attending law school, Chris attended Kansas State University, where he earned a Master’s degree in Spanish Language Acquisition and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. Chris is licensed and ready to assist clients in the state of Kansas.
Before joining Stange Law Firm, specializing in divorce and family law in Overland Park, Kansas, Chris recently worked as an attorney for a government contractor focused on child support enforcement. In this role, he worked on establishing paternity and child support for the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) in Sedgwick County, Kansas. His responsibilities included drafting pleadings and other legal documents for a large caseload, representing DCF in court proceedings, and interacting with both internal and external clients. He also worked on modifying child support obligations for his clients. Previously, Chris held various legal roles over the past 20 years, including Administrative Judge for the Kansas Office of Administrative Hearings, Deputy Director of Child Support Services for the Kansas Department for Children and Families, and attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York. Chris is a family law attorney who takes pride in his legal work. He is committed to helping you navigate the challenging waters of your divorce or family law matter and is eager to help you rebuild your life.
Outside of his legal work, Chris is dedicated to his community. Throughout his career, he has held various positions in community organizations such as the Kansas Child Support Enforcement Association, the Boy Scouts of America, the Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity in Salina, Kansas. Chris is fluent in speaking and writing Spanish.
