Turkmenistan Approves 2026 Work and Public Holiday Calendar
On December 1, 2025, Turkmenistan's Ministry of Labor and Social Protection published the official work calendar for 2026, detailing the structure of the workweek and public holidays. The workweek is organized as follows:
- Five-day week: 40 hours
- Six-day week (7 hours/day): 40 hours
- Six-day week (6 hours/day): 36 hours
Public Holidays in 2026
The calendar includes the following public holidays:
- January 1: New Year
- March 8: International Women’s Day
- March 20: Oraza Bayram
- March 21–22: National Spring Holiday
- May 18: Constitution and State Flag Day
- May 27–29: Eid al-Adha
- September 27: Independence Day
- October 6: Memorial Day
- December 12: International Day of Neutrality
Workday Adjustments
Notably, the workday preceding a holiday is shortened by one hour. Night shifts are also reduced by one hour and, in continuous production settings, are considered equivalent to day work. The average monthly working hours are calculated as follows:
- 40-hour week: 166.9 hours
- 36-hour week: 150.5 hours
