BRITT Dakota

Dakota Britt is a compassionate Team Leader Attorney at Stange Law Firm, PC, who can represent clients throughout Kansas City and the surrounding areas from the firm’s Kansas City, MO office.

Dakota earned his undergraduate degree from Graceland University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice while minoring in Business, English, and Social Services. During his time there, he was the captain and a member of Graceland’s wrestling team and received the Freeman Student-Athlete Award, given to the senior varsity athlete with the highest cumulative GPA on each varsity team. He also served as Vice President of the Student Senate and was a board member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Dakota earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock School of Law. While there, he was a full-time representative for the Student Bar Association for several years and served on the Barrister’s Ball Committee. He is currently licensed to practice in Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska.

Dakota was named a Rising Star Honoree by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers magazine in 2023. This award, granted through a patented multi-phase selection process that includes peer nominations, evaluations, and independent research, recognizes no more than 2.5% of attorneys in the state. He is also Lead Counsel rated in divorce and family law. Since 1997, the Lead Counsel Verified status has been awarded to attorneys with the appropriate professional experience and a spotless record.

Before joining Stange Law Firm, Dakota participated in the Bowen School of Law Litigation Clinic, gaining valuable experience in family law. He drafted a wide range of documents related to family relations and guardianship matters, as well as various types of correspondence, including legal memos, closing statements, and updates on the progress of ongoing cases. He worked closely with clients navigating divorce and family law proceedings. Later, he worked as a legal assistant at a law firm in Little Rock, Arkansas, handling numerous cases related to family relations, contracts, personal injury, property, estates, and criminal law. During this time, he participated in depositions, client meetings, and trial preparation.

When he’s not assisting clients, Dakota enjoys participating in various sports. He currently competes in powerlifting and also enjoys hiking.
