Presentation

Shabana is a co-founder of Shortlands Law Firm Limited. She has been a specialist family lawyer for over 30 years, providing her with vast experience in all aspects of family law.

She has acted for clients worldwide (Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Pakistan, Egypt, America, Azerbaijan, and Europe), both in respect of resolving financial and children issues. Her expertise is extensive, whether in cases involving high net worth assets, small money, domestic abuse, child arrangements, fact-find hearing, relocation abroad and drafting agreements.

She believes in providing a personal and attentive service to clients which is cost-effective and constructive with a view to reaching a settlement at an early stage of the case. However, she will take practical and Court Action when necessary and will make herself available to a client when needed to include support at conferences and hearings. Much of her work is referred by previous clients and/or professionals.

She has expertise in dealing with Islamic divorce, dowry law, abduction to and from Islamic countries. Shabana is an accredited Resolution lawyer and Honorary Legal Adviser at the High Court. She has lectured in family law and written articles for the press as well as assisted with material for TV. She also regularly advises other professionals in respect of family law issues.
