CALLIN Jérémy

Jeremy Callin is an Advocate, Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths. He has been the senior partner of Callin Wild LLC since April 2009. Mr Callin was called to the Manx Bar in April 1988. He was President of the Isle of Man Law Society (2005-2007) Vice President (2003-2005) and Council member (2002-2003). He is Returning Officer for the House of Keys constituency of Onchan (2009 to date) and former Returning Officer for North Douglas (2005-2009). He is a former Acting Chairman of the Employment Tribunal and is a member of the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal (2007 to date). Mr Callin deals with a wide range of commercial and trust litigation (including mediations and arbitrations) together with advisory work including most aspects of corporate, company and insolvency law. He is an international member of the Chancery Bar Association.

He also has a substantial advisory practice in local government law and finance work. Mr Callin is retained by Douglas Borough Council the Island’s largest local authority and a number of other authorities. For many years he acted for the Joint Administrators of Polly Peck International Plc and has represented the Liquidators of Savings and Investment Bank Limited, the Administrators of BCCI, the Receiver of European Life and Pensions and the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission (the predecessor to the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority). He has also acted for Isle of Man Bank Limited and regularly acts for The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Limited.

Mr Callin is also the chairman of CW Corporate Services Limited, a long established corporate and trust service provider regulated by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority. In this capacity he advises a range of high net worth individuals. Mr Callin is a director of numerous client companies and trusts controlling substantial property, cash and investment portfolios.

Mr Callin also represents clients as an advocate in the Isle of Man High Court, the Staff of Government Division (the Isle of Man Court of Appeal) and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council and various Isle of Man Tribunals.
