Presentation

Dominique Doise co-leads our Banking & Insurance team alongside Valérie Mayer and Ludovic Gayral.

His ability to understand the objectives of banking transactions and assess the risk analysis aspect of banking enables him to approach issues with a comprehensive view that goes beyond the confines of law.

His areas of expertise, primarily serving French and foreign credit institutions, cover both advisory and litigation matters:

  • Banking liability and litigation related to trade finance instruments (documentary credits, independent guarantees, etc.), a field in which he has obtained numerous rulings that have set or evolved case law, many of which have been published and commented on.
  • Financing transactions of all types, primarily those related to trade finance or investments, as well as the implementation of guarantees related to these operations.
  • Drafting and implementing "standard" or specific contractual documentation on behalf of credit institutions, including general terms and conditions or framework agreements related to the issuance of guarantees, documentary credits, standby letters of credit, documentary credit back-to-back arrangements, and silent confirmations of documentary credits.

Dominique is also active in general commercial litigation, both judicial and arbitral.

He joined Vatier in January 2020, after having worked at firms such as Slaughter & May, ASA, Alérion (which he co-founded), and Adamas.
