Baghdad, Iraq – October 13 to 15, 2024 – Muayad & Associates is delighted to share that our Managing Partner, Mustafa Muayad, participated as a speaker at the prestigious Asset Recovery Series Middle East event held in Dubai. It was a tremendous honor for our firm to be part of this impactful gathering of industry leaders.

Mustafa was joined at the event by Yasir Al Humairi, Senior Associate; Dunya Mohammed, Associate; and Al Al Riyahi, Marketing Specialist. Together, they represented our firm and engaged with various stakeholders in the legal community.
During the event, Mustafa shared the stage with esteemed co-panelists Mo Farzadi and Ian Mann in a session titled “Cross-Border Insolvency: Back to Basics, Finding a Forum.” The panel was expertly chaired by Simon Dickson and Carla Matthews, whose exceptional guidance facilitated an engaging and insightful discussion.

The panel delved into critical aspects of cross-border insolvency, including recognising insolvency procedures across various jurisdictions, restructuring measures under different legal frameworks, and the implications of forum choice amid evolving rules governing complex structures and digital assets, with a particular focus on Iraq.
