Jeffrey Abney is an associate attorney at Stange Law Firm. Based in our Clayton, MO office, he is ready to assist clients throughout the St. Louis area.

Jeffrey earned his Juris Doctor from the Francis Carey School of Law at the University of Maryland. Throughout law school, Jeff held intern and research positions focusing on criminal and consumer protection cases in Rhode Island and Maryland. Additionally, he also worked as a legal assistant in the disclosure unit of the Office of Special Counsel in Washington, DC. Before attending law school, he attended Webster University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies. He also holds an associate degree in Computer Science from ITT Technical Institute.

Jeff previously worked for Stange Law Firm as an associate attorney, where he consulted clients, drafted pleadings for family law cases, prepared complex agreements, and represented clients in court for restraining orders, dissolutions, and motions. He also participated in settlement negotiations with opposing parties. Before rejoining the St. Louis divorce attorneys at Stange Law Firm, Jeff recently worked in insurance defense, premises liability, and medical malpractice. Since April 2024, Jeff has been working as an associate attorney for a firm where he manages complex cases by drafting motions, conducting depositions, coordinating expert witnesses, and arguing motions in state and federal courts. Prior to that, Jeff worked as an associate attorney for another firm, where he gained additional experience, including reviewing medical records, updating clients, and developing litigation strategies. His work involved meeting strict deadlines and conducting thorough legal research on complex matters, gaining experience handling high-stakes legal issues.
