With other 30 years experience of working in the law and recognised by Chambers & Partners as an ‘Senior Statespeople’  in Trusts – the only trust lawyer in Guernsey to be recognised with this status, Simon advises leading local fiduciary companies on all aspects of Guernsey trusts and issues relating to their underlying corporate structures. He is also an expert on the customary law of Guernsey.

He is regarded by his peers as a leader in his field, having been called to the Guernsey Bar in 1988. He is a Lieutenant Bailiff (part-time judge of the Royal Court), a Deputy Judge of the Magistrates Court and a member of the Legislation Review Panel (which is responsible for approving all draft legislation passed in Guernsey prior to its submission to the legislature for approval).  He has previously been Vice Chairman of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, Deputy Batonnier (Deputy Chair) of the Guernsey Bar and President of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce.
