I am a case manager by definition, but I am someone who helps through action. Although my titles have changed over the years, my primary focus and priorities have remained the same. I enjoy helping people who are going through some of the most challenging times of their lives. It’s easy to feel lost in the intimidating world of the criminal justice system, and I take pride in being a guiding light, offering comfort and understanding in the face of the unknown.

I have been part of the criminal justice system since 2010. Previously, I worked in Jackson County, Missouri, as a case manager for the Department of Population Control. One of my responsibilities there was to supervise individuals on pretrial release. It was in this role that I learned about the pretrial process, but more importantly, I learned about the impact this process can have on a person’s life. The beginning is unsettling due to its unfamiliarity, the middle is stressful because of the waiting, and the end is terrifying due to the unknown finality. As a case manager, I make it my mission to alleviate some of these fears by communicating with and informing clients about the process ahead.

The Missouri DWI & Criminal Law Center at Benjamin Law Firm is a firm that shares a common interest with me: we all want to help. Our primary focus is the client experience. While we strive to achieve the best possible outcomes, we never lose sight of the client and how they feel informed, represented, and treated. Our clients are not just clients; they are an extension of the Missouri DWI & Criminal Law Center at Benjamin Law Firm. They are people who have encountered unfortunate circumstances and should not be defined by those circumstances but rather by the individuals they truly are.

As an individual, I am a Kansas City native, born and raised in the Kansas City metropolitan area. I graduated from high school and went straight into the workforce, gaining all my experience and knowledge through hands-on learning.
